I overcame my ski fall injury due to the strong workout developed by Karina for my hip dislocation. It was necessary after 2 months of repose to start the learning process again. First, I needed to learn how to walk, and then get my confidence back to regain my balance, muscle tone and strength.
I skied this year better than ever thanks to the rigurous and thoughtfull routine created by Karina.
I started working with Karina in spring 2004. I've never considered myself athletic, and have always been wary of using free weights or machines for fear that I would hurt myself.
Karina is very supportive, very articulate, and very analytical. She can explain exactly how an exercise works, its benefits and how it should feel when done correctly. Because she could answer every question and address every concern, I felt confident in pushing myself. Working with Karina I lost 25 pounds and ran a half marathon, which I never thought was possible!

Training with Karina was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. She was my very first Personal Trainer. She introduced me to the world of fitness and taught me how to truly push myself to places I thought I could never reach mentally or physically.
Referring to Karina as a personal trainer does not do her justice. To me, she was a coach, a mentor, a support system, a teacher, a role model. I trained with Karina twice per week for a little over a year. In order to increase strength, we worked with weights, all body parts, always changing up the exercise so as not to adapt and cease progression. To decrease body fat, she kept me moving, keeping my heart rate up through super sets and crazy weight circuits. On my "off days", she put together cardio programs to strengthen my heart and help it become more efficient. There was never a day where we repeated workouts, having my body plateau was not an option.
Karina didn’t just show me exercises; she taught me how to train properly in order to achieve my goals. I would not be where I am today without her and I truly thank her for changing my life. Not only is working out a personal passion of mine, I am fortunate enough to now work in the fitness industry and am surrounded by it daily. And those tall boots I thought I could never wear, they are now a staple in my wardrobe.
I met Karina when I needed a trainer to help me get fit a couple of years ago. I wanted to have a few sessions to jump-start my regimen. I needed to learn how to work the machines and lift weights with the proper technique. After almost 2 years, we were still meeting at 6 AM and had become quite close.
I took away such valuable information, including proper weight-lifting, enhanced cardio bursts to do in between workouts, and nutritional information as well. If I mentioned I wanted to lose a few pounds, she turned into my nutritionist. If I was sluggish, she turned into my drill sergeant. Karina is a no-nonsense type of person who helps to identify your goals, and maps out a game-plan accordingly. Once we reached my goal, she would ask me what goals we were to reach next.
I was never once bored with the routines she set up for me. Each week, they were totally different from the last, thus, there was little time for me or my body to become bored with the "same old" weight training. She introduced me to muscles I never knew I had, and results that I am proud of. Karina is a uniquely-qualified Personal Trainer that offers so much more than your typical workout. If you want a challenge, she is the person you need. You will end up with a true partner in your goals.
